DRASHA BY HaRav Dovid Lewin: This Sunday, September 15 between mincha and maariv, HaRav Dovid Lewin, Rosh Kollel of Mosdos Ahavas Yehonoson in Ramat Beit Shemesh will be giving a Drasha. HaRav Dovid Lewin shlit”a is the author of several halacha seforim. Originally from Toronto, Canada, the Rosh Kollel studied in the famous Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland, OH where he received Smicha. In 2001, Rabbi Lewin and his family made aliyah to Ramat Beit Shemesh where he continues to pursue his lifelong passion of teaching Torah. Now as Rosh Kollel, he utilizes his breadth of knowledge and pedagogic skills to guide and mold the young kollel scholars.

RSVP: FAMILY CHESSED EVENT: Join us for our first ECDP Youth Department event of the season, THIS Sunday, September 15th at ECDP! We will be assemble Rosh Hashanah-themed packages for “KosherTroops”, for US Soldiers stationed all around the world. This will give us a chance to thank our soldiers protecting us, while enhancing their Yom Tov while away from their homes and Jewish communities. In addition to packing, we will also get to decorate the bags, write letters to the soldiers, and more! Of course, we will have our famous and popular cotton candy and snow cone machines running! You don't want to miss this, so mark your calendars! 3-4pm, all ages are welcome! RSVP:



ECDP WOMEN'S BOOK CLUB: The next book club featuring “A Bridge Across the Ocean” by Susan Meissner, will be meeting this Monday, September 16, 2019 at 8:30 pm at the home of Leah Fish, 632 Jefferson Street. The books will be available at the West Hempstead library under Nancy’s book club.

REFLECTIVE SAFETY BELTS: In light of recent tragic events, the Orthodox Union has provided reflective safety belts to shuls at no cost. ECDP has been able to obtain these belts for members to borrow, as needed, for example, when walking home from Shul on Motzei Shabbat. They will be located in a bin in the closet on the Sprague side entrance. We ask that you please return them at your earliest convenience so that the next member in need can make use of them. Thank you.

SECURITY: The Shul has arranged for armed security on Shabbat & Yom Tov mornings. The guards are all either off-duty or retired law enforcement. Please do not distract them as they are here to focus on our safety.

SHUL REMINDERS: Please do not bring any Strollers into the Shul. Strollers must remain outside all buildings. Please do not bring food into the new sanctuary. Please remember to make sure the lights are off and the doors are locked when you are the last or next to last person to leave the Shul. Thank you for your cooperation.

MEMO FROM THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE: The Welcoming Committee welcomes new families to West Hempstead. Additionally, they arrange a Friday night dinner to be delivered to new families for their first Shabbat. We are looking for more volunteers that would be interested in offering to bring Shabbat food for a new family when they move in.
