CARLEBACH MINYAN: Join us tonight, November 15 as we kick off our Monthly Carlebach Friday Night Davening season (in addition to the regular Friday night minyan which will take place in the Schneider Beit Medrash). The schedule to be circulated shortly. Join us for an evening of uplifting niggunim and dancing with inspiring chassidut and dveykut. We hope to see you there! All are invited!
 

SAFETY & SECURITY OF OUR CHILDREN: It is very important that if your children are in groups, that you are present at the Shul. Should, chas v’shalom, something happen with your child, the leaders need to able to find you quickly. Please also note that group supervision ends when davening ends in the Main Shul. Please find your children immediately after davening. Thank you for your cooperation.

SHABBAT MORNING YOUTH GROUPS: Early groups run from 9:15-10:00 am, at which point "Regular" Shabbat Youth Groups begin and conclude at the end of davening. We can’t wait to see you there! SISTERHOOD NOTICES

ECDP WOMEN'S BOOK CLUB: The next book club featuring “The Winter Garden” by Kristin Hannah, will be meeting Monday, November 25, 2019 at 8:30 pm at the home of Leah Fish, 632 Jefferson Street. The books will be available at the West Hempstead library under Nancy’s book club.
 

BABYSITTERS LIST: ECDP Sisterhood continues to update its list of babysitters in the community. The list is distributed to our members and others in the community upon request. SHUL NOTICES

SECURITY: For security and safety purposes the Shul has one main entrance located at 661 Dogwood Avenue. While you can enter and exit from the Sprague side of the Shul, at no time can any of the emergency exits be used as a means of egress or entering the Shul. Doors cannot be propped open. This poses a security risk. We ask that you be considerate and that you close any doors that you notice are propped open. We thank you for your attention to this matter, and ask that you let a shul officer know if you notice a door propped open.
 

REFLECTIVE SAFETY BELTS: The Orthodox Union has provided reflective safety belts to shuls at no cost. ECDP has been able to obtain these belts for members to borrow, as needed, for example, when walking home from Shul on Motzei Shabbat. They will be located in a bin in the closet on the Sprague side entrance. We ask that you please return them at your earliest convenience so that the next member in need can make use of them. Thank you.
 

SECURITY: The Shul has arranged for armed security on Shabbat & Yom Tov mornings. The guards are all either off-duty or retired law enforcement. Please do not distract them as they are here to focus on our safety.

SIMCHA/EVENT SCHEDULING. AS A REMINDER: To avoid any simcha/event scheduling conflicts, please make sure when planning a simcha or an event that you notify and check with the Shul and West Hempstead community calendars. The Shul calendar is maintained by Heather Rutner hwrutner@yahoo.com. Simply email Heather with your information. The WH Community Calendar is maintained by Wendy Pusateri, in the office of the Young Israel of West Hempstead. NEW MANC HOURS: Effective Sunday night, November 3, 2019, the Mikvah weekend hours are: Sunday: 5:30 pm–10:30 pm, Saturday night: 6 pm–10:30 pm **, Motzei Shabbat & Sunday: a community member is on duty till 7:30. At 7:30 pm our regular attendant will come on duty. **Check the MANC message for any changes in the time. Effective Monday, November 4, 2019, the Mikvah will be open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday nights, 5:30 pm–10:30 pm.
 

MANC - KEILIM MIKVAH: Keilim mikvah hours are 9 am - 5 pm.
 

SHUL REMINDERS: Please do not bring any Strollers into the Shul. Strollers must remain outside all buildings. Please do not bring food into the new sanctuary. Please remember to make sure the lights are off and the doors are locked when you are the last or next to last person to leave the Shul. Thank you for your cooperation.
 

MEMO FROM THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE: The Welcoming Committee welcomes new families to West Hempstead. Additionally, they arrange a Friday night dinner to be delivered to new families for their first Shabbat. We are looking for more volunteers that would be interested in offering to bring Shabbat food for a new family when they move in. If you would be interested in being asked to cook one or two dishes every 3-6 months (depending on how frequently people move in) please email Jessica Leifer (Jleifer1@gmail.com) or Leah Fish (lshanfel@yahoo.com) and we would be happy to add you to our pool of volunteers. Thank you to all the volunteers who have helped so far and the welcoming committee: Shira Greenberger, Yael Greenberger, Shifra Levy, Deena Shapiro & Nancy Smith. Additionally, if you know of anyone moving in please email the Welcoming Committee with information on the new family so we can make sure to give all new families a nice welcome to our community.

The food bank is not interested in knowing who you are, only that we can provide food to you and your family. For more information go to www.whfoodbank.org. The West Hempstead Food Bank is now making available cards, which can be given to your Shabbat hosts and/or used for any other occasion. All proceeds from the sales of the cards, which indicate that a donation has been made to the Food Bank, will be used to purchase food. SHALOM TASK FORCE ANNUAL BRUNCH will take place on Sun. Nov. 17, 9:30 am at Sephardic Temple, 775 Branch Blvd, Cedarhurst. Proceeds from the event will underwrite services to victims of domestic violence, including confidential Hotline and free legal services.
